The Story
DopeNation is a Ghanaian musical duo formed in Accra in 2014 by identical twin brothers Michael Boafo (B2) and Tony Boafo (Twist). Both are singers, rappers, songwriters, sound engineers, and record producers, giving the group a distinctive self-produced sound that bridges Afrobeats, hip-hop, highlife, and club-driven Ghanaian rhythms.
The duo has built a vibrant catalog that includes Atta (2021), Ghanapiano (2023), and Ghanapiano – The Album (2025), alongside fan favorites such as “Zormizor (Asabone),” “Gbohe,” “Today,” “Confam,” and “Kakalika.” Their energetic performances and twin chemistry have made them one of Ghana’s most recognizable contemporary groups.
DopeNation was named Best African Group at AFRIMMA 2026, honoring their creativity, cultural impact, and continued role in carrying Ghanaian sound to audiences across Africa and beyond.
